2021  marks an exciting milestone for one of our region's oldest community  groups, The Warwick Caledonian Society. Formed in January of 1871,  Warwick's Scottish association has a proud history over the past century of organising glamorous balls through to huge bagpipe gatherings.

As  the Warwick Caledonian Society celebrates its 150th birthday, an  exciting Celtic event will be held for all of our community to gather  and celebrate our region’s Scottish culture and tradition.

On Saturday, 6 March, a bagpipe muster is to be held at the Warwick  Showgrounds, with flourishing highland dancers, the skirl of bagpipes and a full program of entertainment.

The  ever-popular stirring spectacle of the massed bands will end the  afternoon, transporting you to a distant land of mountains, mist and  reminiscent of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

In  the evening, the Warwick Caledonian Society will host a Celtic dinner  to celebrate the world-renowned Scottish poet Robbie Burns and ‘all  things Scottish’ at the Douglas Feez Pavilion in the Warwick  Showgrounds. Tickets are available to book your table and revel in the  pomp and ceremony of the dinner with pipe band music, highland dancers,  and the piping in of traditional haggis and whisky for all to enjoy.

For  many years the society ran a full highland gathering on Boxing Day each  year. Many will remember hundreds of pipers and drummers from far afield marching off steam trains up to the town centre. Highland dancers  and a program of athletics and games were enjoyed by all; the same as  can be seen in Scotland today.  The Society hopes that in the future  this Celtic event may be relieved to be enjoyed again within our region.
